I’m Julia, founder of Sissy Bags, who loves all things Raffia!

All of our products are handmade in Madagascar. The Artisans of Madagascar are known as the best weavers in the world and I love sharing with Australia, their unique, colourful and carefully handcrafted Bags, Baskets, Hats and Homewares.

Sissy Bags has been operating since 2011 and each container that arrives, still feels like Christmas!

I am so lucky to live in Hervey Bay QLD which provides the perfect backdrop for our photoshoots.

Each basket that is sold, helps the Artisans of Madagascar and their families, bringing change to Madagascar – one basket at a time.
